Cooper Union

Cooper Union is a private coeducational university located in New York City. The University was founded by Peter Cooper, an inventor, industrialist and philanthropist, in 1859 as a school or artists, engineers and architects. Cooper Union was the first private college in the US to forbid discrimination.

Academic department at this school is divided into three parts, architecture, art and engineering. As for the core curriculum, all students are required to take classes in the humanities and social sciences.

Although it has long been the Cooper Union Offered full-tuition scholarships to every admitted student, but the policy changed since 2014 ago for all incoming graduate that year. The Board of Trustees just approved a $ 20,000 tuition due to financial pressure.

One of the popular American president, Abraham Lincoln delivered his historic "Might makes right" address in 1860 in the school's Great Hall.
