Samford University is a private university located in Birmingham, AL, USA. This higher education institution founded in 1841 as Howard College.

Through academic departments, Samford University offers nearly 150 undergraduate majors, minors and concentrations, with a variety of academic degrees in it. And as a school that has a history as a producer of students who have a career in the world of health, Samford University recently created the College of Health Sciences, to continue the history.

Meanwhile, upperclassmen can petition to live elsewhere, while for all the non-commuter students under the age of 21 years, the university made a policy that they are required to live on campus.

There are more than 125 clubs in the university campus, including 14 fraternities and sororities.

There are so many events or traditions which are often held by members of the university, one of which is the Lighting of the Way ceremony, which at the celebration, the community takes part in caroling and the lighting of the campus tree, and Spring Fling, a week of picnics, paintball and a free concert.

And from athletic activities, Samford University sports teams are known as the Samford Bulldogs, Compete in the Southern Conference at the NCAA Division I level. According to data from the university, more than 40% of students Participate in intramural sports.
